Location: Bury St Edmunds
Hours: 14 per week
Salary: £9,805 actual per annum
Contract: 1‑year fixed term (potential extension)

Citizens Advice West Suffolk is looking for a compassionate, motivated LiFT Adviser to help local residents access the financial support they’re entitled to. If you’re passionate about supporting people, solving problems, and improving lives, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
In this impactful role, you will:
- Carry out benefit checks and support clients with benefit applications.
- Help people access grants and other charitable support.
- Prepare and present cases where required, and negotiate with third parties.
- Communicate with clients sensitively and effectively, including drafting letters and making calls on their behalf.
- Work with partner organisations and manage referrals.
- Keep accurate records and meet quality standards.
You’ll be based in our Bury St Edmunds office, with occasional work across other offices or in the community. You’ll also work closely with West Suffolk Council’s Financial Inclusion Officers, using the Low-Income Family Tracker to identify people who may be missing out on key benefits.
