A client was in receipt of ESA and PIP when their PIP was taken away following a reassessment. This resulted in them not only losing their PIP payments but also their disability premiums for ESA – a loss of £166.30 per week. We were able to get the PIP decision overturned at appeal and the payments were reassessed. Sadly this is a very long process and meant that the client was on reduced payments for 10 months, during which time he was reliant on friends to help support him but also ran up debts. The total owed to him once the appeal was successful was £6,910.
