Our two intrepid teams represented Citizens Advice Suffolk West and swam at the Rotary Club’s annual Swimarathon this year and raised well over £1,700 from generous sponsors in the community.
One team, made up of four young people led by Sam Truman, swam a creditable 2 Km in 40 minutes and the older, gentler team, led by Tony Howard with a mixture of Citizens Advice staff and friends swam 1.5 Km in the same fixed time. It sounded easy, but swimming flat out in short bursts was challenging but worth it. The event was well attended by other local charities and organisations and we were proud to take part. Most importantly the money raised will go a long way to supporting the work of our local Citizens Advice in West Suffolk in its support for the community.
