Our intrepid team of four braved the cold weather last Sunday and entered the Swimarathon run by the Bury St Edmunds Rotary Club at Abbeycroft Leisure Centre. 97 swimmers participated from 20 different charities and schools including Gatehouse, Lighthouse Womens Aid, St Nicholas Hospice and Samaritans. We put up a respectable completed 63 lengths (most teams swam between 45 and 90 lengths in the allocated 40 minutes).
So my thanks to Carole Day, Melanie Dolman and Lucy Moore for joining me that morning and cruising the waters.
So far, and donations are still coming in, we raised over a £1,000 for our Citizens Advice. Many thanks to all of you who donated and helped us promote the event and….
