Jane joined Citizens’ Advice as a volunteer adviser in 1990 once my children had started school, having seen an article in the newspaper.
After training as a general adviser, she then worked as a volunteer employment caseworker and began to represent clients at employment tribunals. Jane then extended my role to cover specialist benefit and child support tribunal work, since at that time we had no other caseworkers. She also became responsible for training.
After four years Jane became a part-time paid Deputy Manager, before being appointed as Bureau Manager on the retirement of her predecessor.
Jane has overseen the successful merger of the three local Citizens Advice offices that now make up Citizens Advice Suffolk West, as we work towards delivering a high quality service to meet the ever more complex needs of our clients against a challenging landscape of reducing funding and the ever-greater need for innovation in service delivery.
